Visit of UNA Sri Lanka Delegation to Malaysia

Deputy Executive Chairman of the United Nations Association of Sri Lanka, HRH Prince Dato Seri Deshakeerthi Ambassador, Dr. M.M.M. Rushanudeen JP (W/I), recently visited Malaysia on the invitation of Government of Malaysia for a Matrade B2B meeting and IGEM 2016.

Rushanudeen was conferred the title of HRH PRINCE DATO SERI – AMBASSADOR DR. by the Maharaja King Kutai Mulawarman of Indonesia in August, 2016.

Dr. Rushanudeen led a four member delegation comprising Life and Special Life Members Mr. Irshad Ahamed, Mrs. F.N.N. Rushanudeen, Miss. Nabeeha Rushanudeen and Mr. Marietta Arguido Feformado of Malaysia who had the opportunity of meeting the Governing Council members of the United Nations Association of Malaysia. A dinner was also hosted in their honour on 4th October, 2016 at the Royal Lake Side Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A very cordial discussion was held which centered on the activities of UNA Sri Lanka and UNA Malaysia at which both delegations stressed the need for closer ties and co-operation between the two associations, for mutual benefit. They also discussed the WFUNA Youth Seminar to be held in November, 2016, hosted by the United Nations Association of Malaysia. Mementos were exchanged between the two delegations as a token of friendship and co-operation between the two associations.
