Terrorist Attacks on Churches and Hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday

The United Nations Association of Sri Lanka vehemently condemn the brutal terrorist attack on the innocent Catholics, Churches and Hotels in Sri Lanka on this sacred Holy Easter Sunday, the day on which Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This inhuman act by heinous terrorist which has taken the valuable lives of several innocent people in our country and also injured several others, is an act of animosity which must not be tolerated.

We extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved families’ and pray for the speedy recovery of all those injured in these attacks.

May we call upon all communities in Sri Lanka to unite, during this time of calamity, remain calm, act with responsibility and extend all co-operation to the authorities, during this period of time.

May the souls of our dearly departed brothers and sisters, Rest in Peace.
